This work is the second in a series of sentimental stories and is the result of a semester-long project whose primary goal was to develop a larger-than-average work entirely created by the artist. The work springs from my fascination with the natural world, especially the harsh wilderness and also reflects a personal belief that man's place in this world is not relative to himself, but relative to all creatures as well as the world itself. It's main concern addresses the idea of loneliness as well as the natural beauty that surrounds us on a daily basis, whether we realize it or not. The text, by Emma Trithart is meant to exist as a part of the environment. It is not necessary to read it to understand the story so, therefore, its main purpose is not to be readable. Also, this acts to slow the reader down and take time with the images.
